IPL 2023: How can RCB reach the postseason this year?

Share

With each game played in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the fight for playoff qualifying becomes more competitive. This season's IPL has taken off since the teams in the lowest four spots are claiming victory against the top teams. With some teams frozen at 10 points, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have found themselves in a pickle in the middle of the table. They presently hold the fifth spot after ten games, winning five and losing ten.It has been difficult for Faf du Plessis and his team since they lost to the Delhi Capitals in their last game.
Before playing their last league game at home on May 21, RCB still has three more away games to play. The squad will regret not snatching crucial opportunities in multiple games, which led to their current predicament. Do they now have a chance of making the playoffs this year? Will NRR be a factor?
How likely are RCB to make the playoffs in the IPL in 2023?
How many games has RCB played to date? What place do they have in the points hierarchy?
In the first 10 games of the IPL 2023, RCB has won 5 and lost 5. In the standings, they are presently in fifth position.
Which clubs do RCB's remaining matches against?
The Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans are among of RCB's next critical opponents. The remaining three games, other than the one against the Titans, will all be played away from home.
What must RCB do to go to the playoffs?
For RCB, the playoff qualifying situation is easy. Reach the top four in the points standings by winning three of the last four games. They have performed well this time around, winning two of their last five away games. It could be enough to get two victories out of the following four, but it will rely on other outcomes.
Can RCB reach the top two?
That does seem difficult right now. With three victories, RCB will be eager to secure the first playoff spot, and if there is a possibility, they may consider it. It's interesting to note that they have a strong chance of finishing in the top two if they win all four of their remaining games. Even so, however, NRR may be relevant since CSK and GT are both expected to finish in the top two spots with 19 and more points, respectively, at the conclusion of the league stages.
