When the archery competition begins at the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games from October 23 to 28 the nation’s para archers will attempt to follow up on the success of India’s compound archers in the just ended 19th Asian Games.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-226618″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-sheetal-a-female-armless-archer-is-motivated-to-compete-in-the-para-asian-games-do.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com sheetal a female armless archer is motivated to compete in the para asian games do” width=”1174″ height=”781″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-sheetal-a-female-armless-archer-is-motivated-to-compete-in-the-para-asian-games-do.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-sheetal-a-female-armless-archer-is-motivated-to-compete-in-the-para-asian-games-do-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1174px) 100vw, 1174px” title=”Sheetal, a female armless archer, is motivated to compete in the Para Asian Games 9″>

At the Fuyang Shooting and Archery range in Hangzhou, a total of 133 archers from 23 nationalities will compete for glory over the course of six days with 15 gold medals on the line.

While the archers from the host country are predicted to dominate the field, certain long-standing rivalries will be on show, such as Iran’s Zahra Nemati vs. China’s Wu Chunyan in the women’s solo recurve W1 category.

China won seven gold medals at the Pilsen 2023 World Archery Para Championships three months ago, and the hosts are hoping to build on that success in Hangzhou.

The three-time world champion Chunyan will have the opportunity to wow her local crowd in Pilsen 2023. Nemati, who has won two gold medals at the Paralympics and is undoubtedly the most well-known and accomplished female Paralympian to emerge from Iran, will make it difficult for the Chinese to win this match.

World champions Wu Yang and Zhao Lixue are two more competitors who are anticipated to make an impact in recurve events.

A few fresh names will be aiming to carry on their successful streak at Hangzhou 2022 after shocking everyone at Pilsen 2023’s compound events.

Sarita and Rakesh Kumar are also eager to replicate their Worlds gold medal performance in the compound open mixed team event. Sheetal Devi, the Indian armless female archer who made history at the Pilsen 2023 Worlds by winning the silver medal, is one of them who would be eager to make a mark in Hangzhou.

The former world champion from Singapore, Nur Syahidah Alim, will also be someone to keep an eye on as she aims to resume her winning ways in important contests. Iranians Alisina Manshaezadeh and Hadi Nori, among others, are anticipated to build a name for themselves in the men open doubles competitions.

Chen Minyi and Zhang Tianxin, who won the mixed W1 events at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, should aspire to win the women’s doubles and men’s doubles W1 events like they did at the Pilsen 2023 Worlds.

Zhang Lu, the winner of the W1 women’s singles, will be playing with Minyi, while Tianxin will be partnering Han Guifei in the W1 men’s doubles.

The 22nd through the 28th of October are the dates for the Asian Paralympics.
